Creating A.I. Driving Lines
AI players can only drive in a race if they have driving lines
made for the track and their car. If you want to drive against
AI with a new car or track, you need either to get a new driving line file from someone else or make one yourself.
- To make new driving lines, you must run the game with the command line option "-airecord 1". To do this you should create a shorcut of sliders.exe in your Turbosliders directory for example: "C:\Program Files\JollygoodGames\Turbo Sliders\" (or wherever you installed the game)

- Once you have created the shortcut right click on it & go to properties. Go to the end of the text in the target box & after the quotation mark (") press space once & then copy & paste this:
-airecord 1
- then click apply.

- Now whenever you want to start recording Ai driving lines you start the game by using that shortcut. you could also rename the shortcut for example: airec
- Before you start recording driving lines you should make sure that there are no Ai players entered to race you do this by going to players in Turbosliders & make sure that Ai player fill is on 0 so that you can record some driving lines.

- When recording ai driving lines about 10-20 laps per track per car is probably a good number. The default driving lines were usually done so that about 50 % of the laps
are good ones and the rest get gradually worse. This way, the high skill AIs will get the best laps and the lower skill AIs get slower laps and more variation. One big problem is that if you drive very close to obstacles, it is very probably that the AI drivers will often hit them. This is especially true with cars like Slider which require lots of sliding.
The AI can't follow the lines exactly and it will result in
problems, try not to go very close to obstacles especially in inner curves.
- To know if you are recording driving lines there should be an "AIRec" sign in the top right hand corner of your screen.

- Once you have recorded your driving lines you can see them in action by going back to players & and change the Ai player fill to 10 & see how it goes. if the bots crash or get stuck you may need to remove a lap or more you can do this by going to ai in your Turbosliders directory & open the .lap file with a notepad (it should have the track name before it)
- From here you can see all the laptimes that you recorded & what cars you recorded them for. you can also remove laptimes or start a fresh by deleting the whole file.
